A D-Day Message From INTEL2/5

NORMANDY - One of the most glorious days in American history.  I know this website is dedicated to the Corps, but a special remembrance needs to be conducted by everyone today.

On this day in 1944, thousands of Soldiers set off in landing craft to take back (take special note of this) that which was not theirs in the first place. They then turned over the now blood-rich soil back to its rightful owners.

Why would someone do that? Risk their life for foreigners and their land? Leave their families behind? These Soldiers waded ashore despite a rain of flesh-stripping lead, to sustain the American dream and defend her principles from the scourge of a ruthless dictator.

I ask each and every one of you, regardless of race, color, creed, religion to bow your heads for a moment today in remembrance of these fine men and what they did for all of us! I don't care whether you're standing at the copier, pumping gas, waiting in line at the grocery store or sending a freakin memo! The folks that REACHED DOWN, GRABBED HOLD AND WADED OFF THOSE BOATS deserve that from you!

May the United States of America always be blessed by God as well as the blessing he has always afforded us...that of fine men and women that are willing to put 'self' aside and do greater things.

Semper Fi and God bless!
