Bianca Strzalkowski Named Spouse of the Year

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA - Bianca Strzalkowski was named the 2011 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year today. Bianca is the spouse of Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Ronald Strzalkowski, who is currently stationed at Recruiting Station Raleigh.

Senator Kay Hagan congratulated Bianca and finalist Crystal Cavalier at the Military Spouse of the Year Luncheon and Awards.

"I am thrilled that Bianca was named Military Spouse of the Year," Hagan said. "Bianca and Crystal, whom I met with at the Capitol yesterday, represent the best of the best. It's no surprise these outstanding military spouses are from the Tar Heel state. They were recognized by their peers and communities for their leadership and dedication to supporting our military families, which they do while running their households and advancing their careers. I am amazed by the strength and selflessness of today's finalists, and by all the military spouses across the nation."

The Military Spouse of the Year award recognizes the sacrifice of the nation's 1.1 million military spouses.
