I am not a Marine but I hope to be a Marine soon! This movie is a MUST watch for anyone who wants to be in the Marines! I have recommended this to all my friends. Ssgt. Nichols is a great motivater, and he is an even greater Marine! Oorah!!!

I served in the Corps 64-68. My oldest daughter served 85-89 and my youngest son Kevin leaves for Parris Island in 5 days. I have both videos and found them to be an accurate portrayal of current boot camp. Not too much has changed. I'm extremely impressed with the patriotism and devotion to duty of the current generation of my brother Marines. Thanks.

I went through boot camp in San Diego more than 25 years ago, and now -- finally -- there is a documentary series that finally tells the story in ways only those of us who have stood on yellow footprints can understand. Recruit training changed my life, and it is the indoctrination of the Corps that sets the Corps apart. Staff Sgt. Nichols, besides being a great Marine, is a great man. His works with Chris Figueroa touch the soul in ways that words fail. He is a man of intensity, compassion, humility and action. Sure, he was a kid (and hopefully and LSU fan) when I was doing close order drill on the grinder at MCRD, but he's a man's man and Marine's Marine! The world needs more people like Michael W. Nichols.

Watching you and your DI's instantly took me back to my Bootcamp experience Jun-Aug '92. I loved the DI vernacular, their "isms", everything about it. Just watched "Receiving" wow..that took me back to that first disorienting night, I could literally smell those rooms in the Receiving building. That first squad bay spending the night marking gear, inventoring gear, the first of many marches to the chow hall, and that nagging feeling of "did I do the right thing"? Turns out I did, watching you made me proud of what we did that summer. If I need a little motivation I just watch you guys yell it out. Givens Plt 3038 "L" Co 3rd RTBN "Get on line now move!"

Outstanding job SSgt Nichols, I hope you stay on the trail and give us more of what I remember as a recruit Co. "G" Plt 2142, MCRD San Diego 2001. I showed my fellow soldiers Ears, Open,Eyeballs, Click; and why Marines in my unit are so different than other soldiers. Cause no matter what uniform we wear... We Are Still Marines!!! Semper Fi
